Garve Public Hall (Update 6 - September 23)
Post in Community Ownership by Alan RossRenovation Update 6 - September 23
Site Meeting of August 2023 - the hall is really taking shape now and trustees were happy to share progress with the Development Company at an on-site meeting at the end of August.
August saw the following work take place: -
- Roof sheeting complete
- Cedral cladding complete
- Taping and mist coating complete
- Blockwork complete
- Fascia and Soffit complete
- Guttering complete
- Render complete
- Lining boards to main hall ongoing
You will have all noticed the new feature, a wonderful village clock which will be accompanyed by a new sign in the future.
Regular site meetings take place with LCT and Hall representatives. Tina Hartley, Community Engagement & Development Officer, continues to work closely with our Treasurer, Bob Moir, to monitor the budget. Both Tina and Bob are involved in the grant claims process with LCT and the Highland Council.
We are pleased to be able to support our local posties with WC facilities and dedicated parking during renovation works.
Wonderful that the newly renovated hall will be the start of community regeneration for our area!

I have just driven past the Garve Hall and thought it looked wonderful ( admittedly the sun was shining....makes a difference everywhere) .The green space beside served only to enhance the sight so I thought it would be a shame to build on it. The front of the building beyond looked quite attractive too. I hope it can be put to good use and become an environmental asset - to the world.
