New Funding

Post in Community Care by Tina Hartley
The Development Company are pleased to announce they have been awarded Community Mental Health and Wellbeing funding managed in our area by HTSI (Highland Third Sector Interface)

Community Newsletter

Great news!  We are able to run a 12 month pilot around the provision of a community (paper) newsletter - we know how well received this was in the past and lots of you still have copies!

The aim is to produce a bi-monthly newsletter - the how still needs to be disccussed, but if any community residents would be interested in volunteering to assist in agreeing content, agreeing distribution etc we would love to have you on board.  Our Company Secretary, Heather will take the lead on the project and is very excited to get started.

Prior to the funding application, I put a quick shout out on Facebook for ideas on a name for the newsletter and this is what I received: -

  • G&D Scoop
  • Talking G&D
  • G&D The Lowdown
  • G&D Juicy Morsel
  • G&D Buzz
  • G&D Catch Up
  • The Craic
  • G&D Commuity Craic
  • The Garve Post
  • District Diary
  • Garve Natterbox
  • Garve Natters
  • The Hub
  • G&D News
  • News & Views

Any more ideas - just pop a comment below and please come forward and volunteer to help us get this project moving, looking forward to seeing a News Group!

You can either mention you would like to volunteer below or use the Contact Button to email me directly.

Good news- now there s  a title to start with, quite by a accident .......hope the mag gets going soon. People need a forum for debate and exchange of views. What kind of voluntary help is needed to get started?      Can we get  words like Gate into the heading  or description........Around the Garve and District  Gate .....post.......News and Views ,  through  the  open gate......thinking Biosphere ... to stress or not? Include an article from them or about it...?   Being on line will make things  much easier but  delivering physically should keep our feet on the ground and in touch with reality.......  .

Thanks for your comment Pam and some great ideas for a title there -  I will add them to the list!  I think the community needs to tell us what they would like to see in the newsletter on a regular basis.  Certainly from a Company viewpoint it will complement our Communication Strategy and ensure we are reaching as many folk as possible - I am sure the other community organisatiosns, LCT and Community Council, will welcome some input too.

But more importantly, as mentioned above, we want this to be a community newsletter so volunteers to help us set it up provide ideas, consider how it will be distributed would be wonderful.
