Message from TG&DDC's ChairPost in Company by Sue Tarr
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!
As we enter a new decade, TG&DDC looks forward to continuing work on the Community Plan. There’s a lot in there and we are fortunate to have a strong team in place, in the shape of our Development Officers Tina and Lucy, Secretary Sheila and a full volunteer board with a diverse range of skills, ages and interests.
The Development Company is only part of the story and we’re also fortunate that in the wider community there are a number of groups of volunteers whose hard work has meant that the financial benefit from the local windfarms is finding its way to the community. Looking back over the last decade, we have seen considerable effort from the community as a whole but Garve & District Community Council in particular. They set up the “Agreement” with the windfarm company which led to the formation of the Lochluichart Community Trust. We’ve seen new ideas and projects undertaken by various volunteer groups such as broadband and community energy.
But it is not just about committees! We also have lots of volunteers who just help out when they are needed. One of the biggest challenges we have in this area is having a small population spread out over a large area and everyone has a busy life whether it is work, study or caring for others. As we see more variety of events and activities taking place throughout the community we look forward to seeing more of you, and helping to bring your ideas and suggestions to life.
Do not hesitate to get in touch with any one of us, we are here in support of our community.
