The community decided this was one of a few vital places for a hand sanitisers to be located - more will be installed soon!

Hand Sanitiser Machines for Garve & District

Thanks to funding from Highland and Islands Enterprise Community Recovery Fund we are pleased to say that you will soon be seeing machines being installed around the area: -

  • Wyvis Natural Playpark
  • Strathgarve Playpark
  • Garve Public Hall
  • Achnasheen Village Hall
  • Lochluichart Community Hall
  • Inchbae Lodge
  • Aultguish Inn

Do you think we need machines anywhere else?

Take it will be non alcohol based hand sanitiser due to being a fire hazard in extreme hot conditions.

Thank you for your comment and concern. They do contain alcohol, but they are the same as used in other areas for outside public places and the only issue from other areas is if very hot it can occasionally activate the sensor, but not caused any to go on fire.

I would imagine that the hand sanitiser at the play park would definitely be alcohol based as it's very effective at preventing the spread of infections. While it is flammable it would need an external source of ignition to catch fire not simply an increase in temperature. I would say that the benefits of the alcohol in terms of infection prevention far outweigh the fire risks in this situation.
