Community Summer Festival

Post in Community Groups & Events by Morven MacDonald
We are excited to be planning a fun day for all on 2nd September at Ledgowan Lodge Inn. There is going to be so much going on! Watch this space!

Put the 2nd September at Ledgowan Lodge in your diary

Plans are afoot to create a wonderful day for the whole community with a variety of activities. The outline of the day will take shape over the coming months. Meanwhile we have already made a start with all the flowers you are all busy nurturing thanks to Green Leaves Group and everyone that has got involved. Thank you!

We are really hoping lots of you will enjoy growing the Nasturtium and Borage plants (both edible) at home and they will flourish into a vibrant pot of colour that you will bring along to the Summer Festival, creating a wonderful display of community flowers!

Add a photo of your edible flower pots progress in the comments below, email or message it to us on the fb page.

You can collect your lovely pots after the Festival or we will ensure they are be safely returned to you.

We also plan to have some samples of baking and recipe ideas for you at the event on how you can get creative using edible flowers in your cooking.

Some of you may have already collected Cosmos, Asters, Sweet Peas and Cornflower seeds from Sue and she will be offering again at the Coffee Morning at Inchbae Lodge Inn. These are beautiful summer flowers which are ideal for making an arrangement to bring along to the Summer Festival to show off the communities growing skills and brighten the whole event for everyone.

We will also be announcing the winners of the Sunflower Competition at the Festival. For more information on the Sunflower Competition click here

Thanks to Sue and Megan from Greenleaves for making these activities happen!  You can join Greenleaves Growing Group on fb here
