Seeking Directors for TG&DDC

Post in The Garve & District Development Company by Tina Hartley
We are looking for three new directors. If you have skills and time to offer our board we'd love to hear from you! There are lot of exciting projects in the year ahead.

Thanks to our outgoing Chair, Ed Tarr

The Garve & District Development Company is now looking for 3 new Directors, as our current Chair has recently stepped down in advance of the AGM.

Following the work of the Community Council to constitute the company in May 2017, Ed and three other community members offered their time to create a quorum and build a resource to support and respond to the communities needs and aspirations going forward.

Under Ed’s chairmanship they achieved a fully subscribed board together with the appointment of community engagement and development officers in their first year. Since then, a community development plan has been drawn up and agreed with the wider community to inform the direction of Garve and District in terms of its needs over the long term.

Ed’s considerable contribution to the community has helped to shape the organisation and it was his focus to ensure that the community did come together and the board of directors agree that he has been wholeheartedly successful in achieving this. Ed has now announced his retirement and a desire to see more board members coming in, in particular to encourage more women and young people to ensure equality of representation in The Garve & District Development Company.
