As we look forward to producing a new Community Development Plan, let's take a moment to celebrate what has been achieved from the 2016 Community Survey.
The community should celebrate and be proud of all they have achieved since the 2016 Community Survey:-
Develop a Community Trust - 73 Responses
The Garve and District Development Company is now in place to support community needs and promote community development.
One part-time (3 days per week) Commuity Development and Engagement Officer's post is now in place and the role shared by Tina Hartley and Lucy Beattie.
One part-time (hours as required) Company Secretary post is now in place and we welcome a new member of staff, Sheila Mitchell.
Improved Broadband Facilities - 70 Responses
Broadband Group is now in place and work is moving forward.
Reduced Energy Costs - 42 Responses
Energy group is now in place and work is moving forward including, consideration of community owned woodland and wood fuel supply (17 responses) and looking at small renewable energy schemes (15 responses).
Develop abandoned petrol station at Achnasheen - 26 Responses
Private planning application in place for development of this area.
Christmas Party for whole community - 26 Responses
This was achieved and Christmas Lights switch on for this year will be 1 December 2018, Christmas party planning for this year is also taking place.
Improved childrens play facilities in village - 22 Responses
Play Park in Garve and Wyvis Natural Play Park achieved.
More community activities - 21 Responses
TGDDC Officers have two applications in, one to SCVO Digital Participation Fund and one to Lochluichart Community Trust for the provision of digital skills sessions for older people to include transport and a wholesome meal. Staff are currently looking at holiday activity sessions for young people in our community and a range of activities for adults - watch this space! ALL NOW ACHIEVED!
Defibrillators at key points - 21 Responses
Defibrillators are now installed.
Improve private water supply - 18 Responses
Group now in place and work is on-going.
Environmental Projects - 4 Responses
A small project providing owl nesting boxes took place in Achanalt.
