Why is it important to attend an AGM?
AGMs are important from a governance perspective and detailed in our Memorandum and Articles of Association. They are also important to you, as members, providing the opportunity for you to share your views and ask questions, helping to make sure the Company is being managed in your best interests.
The terms openess and transparency are often banded about, and again AGMs are provided for this very reason - an opportunity for the Company to share information about its activities.
We do this by our Chair giving a report on achievements over the last year and our Treasurer providing a financial overview of the past financial year. It also allows draft AGM minutes from the previous year to be approved and finalised.
We usually try to share some community photos and a display from the local artwork group too - so pull up a chair, grab some coffee and cake and settle down, just for an hour, to support the work of you Community Company.
